Devotion day 24

DAY 24

STAYING ON FOCUS – “THE JOURNEY CONTINUES…”

Philippians 3:12-14

I like a paraphrase I came across earlier this year: “Forget the past and reach for those things still ahead. Earnestly pursue the good of the Heavenly call of God in Christ. Seek to know Him.”

AMEN!!

Continue to recognize that wholeheartedly, focused pursuit of Jesus is a mark of mature Christianity and devotion. I am constantly challenged by v.14 – “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” No matter how many times I read Paul’s words I am stirred. When I read this passage, I hear the whisper of Jesus…well done! Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.

In 2022, remember: “Great faith is the product of great fights. Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests. Great triumphs can only come out of great trials.” – Smith Wigglesworth

What are you acting upon?

We don’t believe something by merely saying we believe it, or even when we believe what we believe. We believe something when we act as if it were true.

What are you acting upon today?

Throughout this year you will face challenges and battles, remember: “When grief presses you to the dust – worship there.” - C. H. Spurgeon. Your battles may not end tomorrowbut neither will God’s sustaining grace. “My grace is sufficient for you...” 2 Corinthians 12:9b

Remember as we continue to navigate through each challenge that the church is here to meet your deepest needs:

1) A purpose to live for

2) People to live with

3) Principles to live by

4) A calling to live out and

5) Power to live by

When you come together with other believers you never know who you might be inspiring.
